A guidebook is almost a necessity for anyone visiting Maine's Baxter State Park. That's because the park requires reservations for overnight users and without a guide, it's pretty hard to pre-plan a trip to the park.
Katahdin – A Guide to Baxter State Park & Katahdin tries to fill in this void. It's a guidebook to Baxter State Park, of which Katahdin is part of. The book does an admiral job at covering practically every trail in the park but the lack of any maps is a serious deficiency.
