Delaware and Ulster Railroad Railride - Arkville, New York

While you really are on a ride to nowhere, a trip on the Delaware and Ulster Railroad Rail Ride is a great way to spend an afternoon. You get to take in the beauty of the Catskill Mountains around you and get a feeling for what train travel must have been like years ago in this region.

While the Catskill Mountains used to be crisscrossed by railroad lines, today few survive and those that do have been resurrected as tourist railroads. Out of what was probably hundreds of miles of track, there are only two rail rides left – the Delaware and Ulster Railroad and then another shorter rail ride in the Town of Phoenicia.
