Mauna Loa Macadamia Nut Factory Visitors Center - Hilo, Hawaii

While it’s not the most spectacular place to visit on the island of Hawaii, the Mauna Loa Macadamia Nut Factory Visitors Center is an interesting stop on your travels around the island, especially if you like macadamia nuts.

At the factory you’ll be able to see macadamia trees growing, learn about how the nuts are harvested and then watch the nuts travel through the various processing steps. Once you’re done there, you can go into the gift shop where pretty much every kind of macadamia nut you can think of is available for sale – honey roasted, salted, chocolate covered – they are all there.
