I like to be comfortable and one thing I don’t like about a canoe or a kayak is that there’s no real comfortable way to sit, even on the most contoured seats. So last year when I was preparing for a long canoe trip, I made sure to look for something that was lightweight, easy to pack and would make my seat more comfortable.
What I found was REI’s Lite-Core Sit Pad, a self-inflating cushion that would give me some cushioning on the wooden canoe seat. When it’s deflated, the pad is easy to roll up and can be stored in the small stuff-sack that it comes in or you can stuff it into your pack.
