Soft Paths: How to Enjoy the Wilderness Without Harming It by Bruce Hampton and David Cole

Soft Paths - How To Enjoy The Wilderness Without Harming It
Looking for a book to help you with your low-impact camping, hiking, and climbing skills? In Soft Paths, by Bruce Hampton and David Cole provide a primer to backcountry users in how to limit and reduce their impact from outdoor activities. There's information on backcountry travel, camping, fires and sanitation, along with information on a number of different special environments you could find yourself in when you are out in the backcountry.

What about minimum/low-impact outdoor recreation then? If you don't have any idea of what it is before you read the book, when you are finished with Soft Paths you should have a very good idea of what you should and shouldn't be doing when you are out in the woods. The same goes if you have some low-impact experience, this book will broaden your horizons and really help you find ways the reduce your impact on the backcountry environment.
