Saratoga National Historical Park - Stillwater, New York

Know your American Revolutionary War history? The Saratoga National Historical Park protects and allows you to explore one of the most pivotable battles in our fight for freedom against the British. The battle at Saratoga showed that the Americans could beat the British in a battle and helped the French decide to join the war as our allies.

So what will you see at the Saratoga National Historical Park? Actually, not all that much. The Park Service has done an admirable job at protecting the battlefield area and leaving it in the condition that it was during the war. There are a few historical structures and some historical artifacts, but the majority of this park is interpretive. From the visitor's center that offers a good introductory movie about the battle to the many interpretive signs throughout the battlefield. This park lets you explore on your own terms to discover the significance of the Battle of Saratoga.
